Why do you #ChooseAdventure?
To live my motto of Don’t Die Wondering, to live my life.
Adventure makes you feel...
Favorite type of adventure?
My current adventures are around my racing and training. I’m incredibly fortunate that I get to travel to fantastic places around the world, meet fabulous people and race some amazing courses.
Favorite adventure to date?
I climbed Kilimanjaro with my sister in 2007. It was an amazing experience and nothing like we’d either done before.
Another great adventure… moving to Sydney Australia with my then corporate job. Leaving the UK and my family and moving solo overseas. Again an amazing experience that I learnt so much from and have grown from.
What is your next adventure planned?
My next adventure is to head to Europe and race over there for a few months. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Europe. I remember traveling there on holiday as a kid, and then I travelled around Eastern Europe after I graduated from University, and absolutely loved it. So many cultures and history. So I’m excited to get back there and experience the racing over there.
Your ultimate adventure bucket list is?
After Kilimanjaro we said we never wanted to go near another mountain again! ha ha! However shortly after the rose tinted glasses came on we started talking about Everest Base Camp! However I just think my Ultimate adventure is just having an amazing fulfilled life, where I’ve been able to travel the world, train, compete, experience the local communities, meet inspiring people and love what I’m doing.
The person/people who inspire me most to take an adventure...
The people who go against the grain. People who take a leap of faith and follow a dream and do things slightly differently, rather then becoming stuck on the treadmill of the ‘normal’ world.
Adventure item you can't live without?
My SodaStream! Ha ha! Not quite an adventure item really as not exactly ideal for travelling, however I end up buying a SodaStream most places I live! It’s the best way to help me stay hydrated.
In terms of gear…I love my Skins compression garments. Fantastic for long haul travel and recovery from training sessions.
