Tower Adventurer 2 10’4 REVIEW

  • GLIDE & SPEED

Tower Adventurer 2 10’4 is slower to respond to paddle strokes.

  • STABILITY

This board feels super stable even in chop or small waves.

  • MANEUVERABILITY

Tower Adventurer 2 is a little slower to turn.

  • EASE OF TRANSPORT

Being on the heavier side combined with not including a carrying pack are all contributed to making this board hard to transport.

  • EASE OF INFLATION

Inflating this board will be difficult since the pump you get is only one simpler than the ones you get in other SUP packages in the same price range.

  • ACCESSORIES

Unfortunately, especially for the price, this inflatable paddle board comes with no pack or leash.

The 3-piece fiberglass paddle you get with this board is not the heaviest, nor the lightest.

The kit hand pump is not dual-chamber, which is expected from a board in the same price range.

Tower Xplorer 14′

BEST FOR STABILITY

WHAT I LIKEWHAT I DON’T LIKE
– Glides well.

– Stable.

– High weight capacity.

– Reasonably priced.

– Incredibly rigid.
– No included carry pack makes it not easy to transport.

– No kit safety leash.

– No bungee cord on the deck.

– Kit paddle and pump could be improved.

– Heavy.

– No d-rings on the deck.

IDEAL CHOICE FOR:

  • Touring.

GREAT IN/FOR:

  • Flat water.

Tower Xplorer 14′ REVIEW

  • GLIDE & SPEED

The Tower Xplorer 14′ glides with ease and solidly cuts through rough choppy water or boat wake.

It also has good speed too.

  • STABILITY

The Xplorer 14′ is very stable due to its length and thickness of 8″.

Feeling stable on it helps you to push harder and faster.

  • TRACKING

For an inflatable paddleboard this big and bulky, Tower Xplorer 14′ offers good tracking.

  • MANEUVERABILITY

Its heavyweight, length, and thickness make this board more difficult to turn on a dime but it’s surprisingly easy to maneuver if you lean into the turns.

  • EASE OF TRANSPORT

Tower Xplorer 14′ is way too big to be carried fully inflated.

The same thing when deflated, it is hard to transport because it comes not come with a carry pack.

Compared to other boards, It takes a bit longer to deflate and roll-up.

  • EASE OF INFLATION

Due to its large size, this board takes a very long time to pump up by hand

  • ACCESSORIES

Unfortunately, especially for the price, this inflatable paddle board comes with no pack or leash.

The kit pump has only one chamber when most iSUPs in the same price range include a dual-chamber triple-action hand pump.

The included 3-piece adjustable fiberglass SUP paddle is good but you can certainly find better ones.

Tower iRace 12’6

BEST FOR SPEED

WHAT I LIKEWHAT I DON’T LIKE
– Rigid and durable.

– its sleek body helps it be fast on the water.
– The kit pump is not good, especially when compared to other similar iSUPs in the same price range.

– No d-rings to attach things like a safety leash or a kayak seat.

IDEAL CHOICE FOR:

  • Recreational racers that travel a lot.

GREAT IN/FOR:

  • Flat water.
  • Ocean.

QUICK SPECS

  • Price range: High
  • Use: Racing
  • Dimensions: 12’6″ x 30″ x 6″
  • Weight: 27 lbs
  • Weight capacity: 400 lbs
  • Comes with: Fiberglass paddle, 1-chamber pump, Fin, Repair Kit, The Five‑hour Workday book, No backpack, No leash

Tower Xplorer 14′ REVIEW

  • GLIDE & SPEED

The width of only 30″ and length of 12’6 let the board be fast, especially in clear waters.

  • MANEUVERABILITY

Tower Xplorer 14′ can be maneuvered with little effort in choppy waters.

  • EASE OF TRANSPORT

Carrying the board inflated from and to the water is easier considering its width of only 30″ and the grab handle at the center.

Transporting it deflated to or in your car is not easy since it does not come with a carrying pack.

  • EASE OF INFLATION

Inflating the Tower Xplorer 14′ board using the kit hand pump takes some effort and a certain amount of time.

  • ACCESSORIES

Unfortunately, especially for the price, this inflatable paddle board comes with no pack or leash.

As said before, the kit pump is not a fast or easy to use hand-pump.

The paddle you get with this board has a fiberglass shaft making it average or good, but you can certainly find a better one on the market.

FAQ

The best Tower Paddle Board for me is …

If you have to choose Tower and you are a beginner, I will recommend you the Tower Xplorer 14′ because it glides with ease, is fast, and is very stable.

If you have the choice, I’ll recommend you the NAUTICAL 11’6 for large beginners or the GILI Meno 10’6 if you are a small beginner. Both are good for beginners looking for a super stable board to learn on.

Why do I recommend SUP Board from Other Brands?

Tower products were good 4 to 6 years ago, competitors like iRocker, Gili, Nixy, or Thurso Surf offer better board construction and features and include higher-end accessories for a lower or the same price.

Inflatable Boards I Recommend:
Best Lightweight: Honu Byron 10’6
Best for Budget: Roc Explorer 10′
Best for Beginners: NAUTICAL 10’6/11’6
Best for Lakes: Thurso Waterwalker 132
Best for Touring: Blackfin Model V
Best for Fishing: Sea Eagle FishSUP 12’6
